와이닷츠는 2026년 7월 10일부터 11일까지 서울 양재 aT센터에서 열린 ‘제4회 오티즘엑스포’에 참가해 발달장애 아동을 위한 AI 대화 기기 ‘루미키(Lumiki)’와 언어·대화 연습 앱 ‘토크테일(TalkTale)’을 선보였다고 밝혔다.

이번 전시회에서 와이닷츠는 발달장애 아동이 보다 쉽고 편안하게 자신의 생각과 감정을 표현할 수 있도록 지원하는 두 가지 신규 서비스를 소개했다. 행사 기간에는 아동과 보호자, 언어·발달재활 전문가, 교육기관 및 유관기관 관계자들이 부스를 방문해 서비스를 직접 체험하고 활용 가능성을 살펴봤다.

✔️버튼 하나로 대화를 시작하는 AI 기기 ‘루미키’

루미키는 화면 없이 음성으로 대화할 수 있는 AI 기반 기기다. 아이가 기기의 버튼을 누르고 말을 하면 AI가 음성으로 응답하는 방식으로 작동한다.

복잡한 화면 조작이나 메뉴 선택을 최소화하고, 아이가 자신의 관심사와 경험을 중심으로 자연스럽게 대화를 시작할 수 있도록 설계한 것이 특징이다.

전시 현장에서는 방문객들이 직접 버튼을 눌러 루미키와 대화를 나누는 체험이 진행됐다. 와이닷츠는 보호자가 아이의 대화 주제와 이용 활동을 확인할 수 있는 보호자용 앱과 리포트 기능도 함께 소개했다.

✔️놀이와 미션으로 언어를 연습하는 ‘토크테일’

토크테일은 발달장애 아동이 태블릿PC를 활용해 다양한 언어와 대화 상황을 연습할 수 있도록 개발한 앱이다.

아이들은 캐릭터와 함께 상황별 역할극, 감정 표현, 오늘과 내일의 이야기, 반대말 학습, 말놀이 등 여러 미션을 수행할 수 있다. 미션 완료 후에는 아이가 말한 내용을 바탕으로 AI 이미지가 생성돼 참여 동기와 성취 경험을 제공한다.

행사 기간에는 아이들이 직접 캐릭터를 선택하고 미션을 수행하며 토크테일의 대화 흐름과 AI 이미지 생성 과정을 체험했다.

✔️Lumiki: Starting a Conversation with the Press of a Button

Lumiki is a screen-free, AI-powered device that enables children to engage in voice-based conversations. When a child presses the device’s button and speaks, the AI responds through voice.

The device is designed to minimize complex screen interactions and menu navigation, allowing children to begin conversations naturally based on their interests, experiences, and favorite topics.

At the exhibition, visitors were able to press the button and speak directly with Lumiki. WhyDots also introduced a companion app and reporting features that allow parents to review their child’s conversation topics and usage activities.

✔️TalkTale: Practicing Language through Play and Interactive Missions

TalkTale is a tablet-based app designed to help children with developmental disabilities practice language and conversation in a variety of everyday situations.

Children can select a character and participate in activities such as situational role-play, emotional expression, talking about today and tomorrow, learning opposite words, and playing language games. After completing a mission, an AI-generated image based on the child’s responses is provided as a reward, helping create a sense of achievement and encouraging continued participation.

During the event, children experienced TalkTale by selecting characters, completing missions, and watching their spoken responses turn into AI-generated images.
